Massachusetts Has Thousands of Powerball Winners, Jackpot Closes In On $1 Billion
There was no Powerball jackpot winner last night so the pot is now going to be $925 million for Saturday night’s drawing. But all hope is not lost if you bought a ticket in Massachusetts. There were thousands of winners here. The winners were not of the big prize. They weren’t of a million dollar prize either. However, do not throw your ticket away. There were 157 people who won prizes of $100. You achieve this in one of two ways. You either match 4 numbers OR 3 numbers plus the Powerball number. So remember, do NOT throw your ticket away before checking because even though it’s “only” $100, that money could go a long way especially these days. The winning numbers were: 1, 7, 46, 47, 63 and red Powerball 7. Saturday’s jackpot will be the ninth largest in lottery history.
So what is the next drawing looking like? According to a press release from Powerball: It’s the ninth largest in the American lottery game’s history. There have been 30 consecutive drawings without a big winner, dating back to July 19. That amount of money is nothing to sneeze at. If someone wins Saturday’s jackpot, they’ll have a cash pay out of $432.4 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Most people choose the lump sum payout to ensure they get all of their money while they’re still here. Smart move.
