Massachusetts Has Thousands of Powerball Winners, Jackpot Grows to Over $800 Million
There was no Powerball jackpot winner last night so the pot is now going to be $800 million for Wednesday night’s drawing. But all hope is not lost if you bought a ticket in Massachusetts. There were thousands of winners here. The winners were not of the big prize. They weren’t of a million dollar prize either. However, do not throw your ticket away. There were 127 people who won prizes of $100. You achieve this in one of two ways. You either match 4 numbers OR 3 numbers plus the Powerball number. So remember, do NOT throw your ticket away before checking because even though it’s “only” $100, that money could go a long way especially these days. Oh and by the way, if you have any relatives in Florida or Oregon, make sure you tell them to check their tickets because three tickets purchased in Florida and one in Oregon — matched all five white balls to win $1 million prizes.
So what is the next drawing looking like? According to a press release from Powerball: It’s the fourth-largest purse in the American lottery game’s history and the second-largest this year. That amount of money is nothing to sneeze at. If someone wins Wednesday’s jackpot, they’ll have a cash pay out of $390.4 million. The other option is to take the money in 30 annual payments over 29 years. Most people choose the lump sum payout to ensure they get all of their money while they’re still here. Smart move.
So before you play Powerball tomorrow, why not take a look at which numbers have the best chances of winning? We have broken it down for you and researched which numbers are drawn the most during Powerball drawings. Will this ensure you win? Probably not. But hey…it doesn’t hurt to maybe change your strategy a bit right? Keep scrolling.
