Lowell Summer Jam is Coming This August
Summer is here in New England, summer music festival season is in full swing, and Lowell Summer Jam is coming.
Of course, the season here in the Boston area officially got underway on Memorial Day weekend with Boston Calling Music Festival. If you missed it, I recapped my experience at the three-day soiree here. And we even have a whole bunch of pro-shot pics of headliners Nine Inch Nails and Metallica; you can check those out here. But let’s shift our focus north of the city for a moment.
Lowell Summer Jam comes to the Mill City on Saturday, August 6. The one-day mini-festival is packing in ten solid local acts: five on an outdoor stage, and five on an indoor stage. It’s all conveniently located at Trend New England on Merrimack St. in Lowell. And the price is right, too. Pony up $10 and you’ll get access to the outdoor stage, where the music starts at 3:30 in the afternoon and rolls all the way through to 8 p.m. An extra $5 gets you indoors for the after party, with music from 8:30 p.m. until after midnight. Do the math: that’s ten bands for fifteen bucks. Not a bad deal.
Grab your tickets here and see who’s playing here. Be sure as well to keep your eyes on those spaces; as the summer rolls on, Lowell Summer Jam will be adding artists, vendors, and even drinking games to the itinerary. Responsibly, of course.
Between that and Nice, a Fest in Somerville, the summer music festival slate is shaping up quite nicely in and around the city. I’ll do my best to keep you in the know, but if a festival or big music event is popping up in your neighborhood, hit the ROCK 92.9 Facebook or Twitter to let me know so I can help get the word out.
