Al Barr to Sit Out Upcoming Dropkick Murphys Tour to Care for Mother
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Due to the 2020 global pandemic, only the band (in Red Sox jerseys) and crew were allowed on-site. It was webcast live and we were all glued to the TV. An empty park never had so much raw energy and provided so much hope.
Sending positive vibes to Dropkick Murphys vocalist Al Barr as he takes a break from the band and cares for his mother Ingrid this winter.
Al, alongside his wife and sister, have been tending to Ingrid in recent months as she recovers from a series of strokes and navigates a diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia. The band released a statement on Facebook earlier today, along with how they’ll be covering Al’s parts for their upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Tour.
All the love in the world to Al, Ingrid, and the entire Barr and Dropkick Murphys familes.
