Here’s How to Keep Track of Thanksgiving Day High School Football
It’s a Massachusetts Thanksgiving tradition like no other: rival high school football teams facing off on the gridiron on Thanksgiving Day.
And with the news that Channel 5 won’t be bringing back Mike Lynch and his annual “High 5 Salute to Thanksgiving Heroes,” there’s a void left. Not just for the nostalgia of wanting to know how your hometown team fared in the turkey day tilt, but for the stories that Lynch and his crew would find surrounding the games.
At least we can keep track of the tallies for bragging rights. CBS Boston has the scoreboard here. So you can take a look ahead of time if you need a refresher on who plays who, then take another look on Thanksgiving Day to see who beat who. I grew up in Wakefield, and now my youngest is in middle school in Melrose: two Middlesex League Thanksgiving rivals. Who do I root for?
