On Monday, Boston Mayor Kim Janey announced a new pilot program that will make one of the MBTA’s bus routes free for three months.
The Route 28 Free Fare pilot program will begin on August 29 and lasting through November 29. The MBTA’s 28 bus runs from Mattapan through Roxbury and into Dorchester. The aim, Mayor Janey said, is to make “transportation accessible and affordable for residents and commuters.”
