The All-Time Greatest Green Day Song, According to Billie Joe Armstrong
For St. Patrick’s Day this year, we played the Top 17 Green Day Songs, as voted by you. Now, Green Day’s main man has weighed in on his fave.
The latest installment of Vulture‘s “Superlatives” features Billie Joe Armstrong, and Billie Joe says “Jesus of Suburbia” is the Best Green Day Song:
“It’s so epic. I mean, I’m tooting my own horn, but I think it encompasses so much about my life and friendship and family, and it’s flamboyant and big and bombastic. It’s one of those moments where I was feeling like I wanted to take a big risk.”
Good pick, Billie Joe. You had his No. 1 as your No. 3 on your Top 17 list. Armstrong also shared some of his other favorites (Kerplunk gets his top album spot). Get the full Vulture piece here.
