Here’s a Case of Mistaken Identity No One Would Want to Deal With
Earlier this year, Massachusetts hardcore band Converge made international headlines, but not for any reason they wanted to.
You see, Converge–or, specifically–Converge ICT–is also the name one of the largest internet service providers in the Philippines. Back in January, the band Converge noticed an influx of angry messages in Filipino on their social channels. They put two and two together, and then put together a press release of sorts that was picked up by CNN in the Philippines.
American hardcore punk band @Convergecult addresses Facebook comments they received from Filipinos complaining about Internet service. They say their page has nothing to do with Philippine telecom company Converge https://t.co/sDo55hOx53 pic.twitter.com/97r0WndCPT

Points to Converge for handling the mix-up with grace and a sense of humor. Now all I can think of is this band I was into back in the day called Epstein. I wonder if they’re still around, and if they had a hard go of it a couple of years ago.
