Vote for the GOAT: Adam 12’s AC/DC Top 5
At long last, the last Top 5 list of the bunch. And if you’re a fan of AC/DC, then I guess you can say that I saved the best for last.
This all started when you voted for your favorite songs from 14 ROCK 92.9 artists in a little something we called Vote for the GOAT. For the last 3 weeks, I’ve been responding to your lists with my own personal Top 5 lists for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses, Green Day, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, and Pearl Jam. You can scroll through all of those here.
But now, it’s time for AC/DC. Here’s your Top 5:
Vote for the GOAT – AC/DC
5) You Shook Me All Night Long
4) Hells Bells
3) Thunderstruck
2) Highway To Hell
1) Back in Black
And here’s MY Top 5. Thanks for checking it out; I really enjoyed making these Top 5 lists.
5) Whole Lotta Rosie – I don’t know if this is the first AC/DC song I ever heard, but it’s the first AC/DC song I remember hearing. I was too young to understand what it was about, but it sure as hell stuck with me.
4) The Jack – I grew to truly appreciate the greatness of “The Jack” when I was working at WBCN and would replay AC/DC’s legendary 1978 set from The Paradise.
3) The Razor’s Edge – I know it’s not one of the “hits” from the album, but it’s my favorite cut from 1990’s The Razor’s Edge and my third-fave AC/DC jam of all-time.
2) Highway To Hell – Iconic. Timeless. Period.
1) Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution – You know the story: this wasn’t even supposed to be on the album! It was a last-minute addition at the end of the recording sessions because the label wanted an album with 10 songs, not 9. So the band tosses off a riff and some lyrics and it ends up being the best damn song on an album full of all-timers. Bless.
