It’s looking more and more like their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2017 was the last time fans will ever see the surviving members of Yes play live.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Steve Howe said a reunion is unlikely:
“I don’t think [the fans] should stay up late nights worrying about that,” he says. “There’s just too much space out there between people. To be in a band together or even to do another tour like Union is completely unthinkable.”
He went on to say: “It was difficult when we went through that, particularly because of the personalities. When you get a big hodgepodge like that together, it’s pretty much a nightmare. We made a nightmare of possibly a good thing back in 1990. I don’t think there is the stamina or the appetite for that kind of thing again.”
I guess we’ll just have to make due with getting freaked out by their classic clip for “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” Boy, did this scare the hell out of me when I was a kid.
