For as long as rock musicians have been shredding tasty licks on electric guitars, rock fans have been arguing about who does it best.

Total Guitar Magazine ran a reader's poll earlier this year to determine the 100 Greatest Guitarists and Queen's Brian May was crowned Greatest Rock Guitarist, edging out Jimi Hendrix. Look, I get it. It makes much more sense to have a guy who is still alive and can give your magazine a good cover feature interview at the top of your list. And Brian May is a legend. But May over Hendrix just doesn't feel right.

So let's sort things out in this week's 12 Inch Poll. I took the Top 6 axemen from the Total Guitar Top 100 list and put them in the poll below. Vote for who you think should sit at the top, and then we'll see how our Top 6 lines up with theirs.
