Great Scott Might Not Be Gone After All
Allston rock club Great Scott–closed since mid-March and preparing to close for good since early May–is getting a new lease on life.
Boston online music magazine Vanyaland reported yesterday afternoon that Great Scott’s long time booking agent Carl Lavin is in talks to acquire the beloved club’s intellectual property and liquor license from owner Frank Strenk. The goal would then be to secure a new lease.
This is already underway, with Lavin teaming up with Mainvest to raise capital. You can get the details here. Great Scott is also selling t-shirts to raise funds and put money into their employee relief fund, and so is O’Brien’s Pub.
