Ratt’s ‘Out of the Cellar’ Turns 35 (+1)
March 27, 1984. Hollywood hair metal band Ratt releases their debut album Out of the Cellar and it becomes an instant classic of the genre.
And the best way to revisit the triple-platinum LP? Through the album’s music videos. MTV was omnipresent in 1984, and metal acts like Ratt, Mötley Crüe, and Van Halen were all over the cable channel. The video for “Round And Round” is an absolute classic. I mean, Milton Berle make a cameo, both in and out of drag!
“Wanted Man” kicked ass too, with its glam metal-wild west mash-up.
The best of the bunch might be “Back For More,” though. See if you can spot the cameo at the 3:00 mark.
Ratt & Roll, baby.
