You Might Not Know Rammstein, But You Need To See Them Live
German hard-rockers Rammstein are coming to the Commonweath this summer to set everything–including themselves–on fire.
For the uninitiated, Rammstein have been making industrial-tinged rock and backing it with eye-popping live shows since the mid-90s. I saw them for the first time at the Worcester Palladium in 1999. The pyrotechnics were so intense I could feel the heat from my seat in the balcony. Oh, and lead singer Till Lindemann set himself on fire during the encore.
That was the same show which led to the arrest of Lindemann and keyboard player Christian “Flake” Lorenz for lewd and lascivious behavior. Over the last two decades, Rammstein have upped the theatrics and the pyrotechnics. Check out the trailer for their upcoming North American tour.
Flamethrowers. Guitars with flamethrowers. Backpacks with flamethrowers. Rammstein puts on the greatest live rock show I’ve ever seen. I’ll be at Gillette Stadium on September 6. You should plan on being there, too.
