Mötley Crüe’s ‘Dr. Feelgood’ at the Centrum, 30 Years Later
December 15, 1989. Mötley Crüe brings the ruckus and the riot of their Dr. Feelgood Tour to the Worcester Centrum.
It’s crazy to think that 30 years later the Crüe would be co-headlining Fenway Park with Def Leppard, but here we are. The three decades that have transpired between now and then brought the band their fair share of triumph and tragedy, highs and lows, breakups and makeups. But the thread that ties then to now? A setlist jam-packed with hits.
Sure, we don’t yet know what will make the cut for their Fenway gig next summer, but we can guess that it’s going to be all the songs we love. What we do know, though, is what they played in Worcester back in December of ’89. And it was a damn hit parade, punctuated with the trademark solos Crüe fans have come to love over the years.
Now, while I wasn’t able to find any footage from the Centrum show, I did find a pretty decent bootleg from their Kansas City date a month earlier. So set the wayback machine for 1989 while you wait to see Mötley Crüe in 2020.
