And now, a new survey shows that 4 Massachusetts neighborhoods rank as the priciest in America. Find out where Massachusetts most expensive neighborhoods are, here.
The survey was done by PropertyShark. It uncovers the 100 most expensive ZIP codes in the United States. As it turns out, 4 nearby zips have made the top 100 most expensive. And they are all in Eastern MA. See if you can guess where Massachusetts most expensive neighborhoods are, before reading on.
Milton Patch covered the story and noted that “California claimed 79 of the most expensive ZIP codes in the country.” That is the record. The Sunshine State has the most of any state. Coming in second is New York, with 22 ZIP codes in top 100 most expensive places to buy a home.

Prices
Back Bay is tops in the state. According to PropertyShark, it ranks as the 31st most expensive in the United States. It’s the costliest area to buy a house in Massachusetts. And you’ll have to put down around 2.8 million on average to purchase a home. And as high as that sounds, it’s actually lowered from last year, when it ranked #27.
Weston, about 15 miles west of Boston is the second most expensive place to buy a home in the Bay State, and it rank 70th out of the hundred. The median home price in Weston is $2.1 million.
Waban Village, Newton ranked 71 in the 100 most expensive places in the U.S. The neighborhood is one of 13 villages in Newton, Mass. And was described by Visit New England as, “Looking like a mix between a fashionable suburban neighborhood and a quaint little, Upstate New York village. The average home here will cost you roughly $2.097 million.
Wellesley Hills in Wellesley is bordered by Babson Park and Wellesley Square. The median home sale price is around $1,990,000 million. This neighborhood ranked #84 in the top 100 priciest ZIP codes.
