From Austin to Boston...Over the weekend, a beloved Austin Texas based movie theater chain opened here and was immediately sold out. What's the appeal of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Boston? For one, customers reportedly love the heated reclining seats. But there's much more, as you will read ahead. There is much anticipation around this theater. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is open in the Seaport: Sit in luxury with heated recliners and full menu.

Alex Shebar, Marketing Manager for the Alamo Drafthouse told CBS News Boston,  there is much more than just the heated seats and lounge chairs. As Shebar said, "We do food and drinks right at your seats, so you don't have to get up. You can do bowls of popcorn. You can do a burger, fried pickles. We allow no talking or texting. No advertisements." And apparently, they are strict about the talking and texting. They will kick you out if you don't follow those rules. How awesome does that sound?

Not only does the new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema create a new, fun movie-going experience, but it creates jobs in Boston. And, it helps bring people back into the theater. Get off the couch and check out the Alamo online, where you can book your seats. You can also purchase gift cards there and even get a season pass!

Snacks And Sips At The Cinema

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema experience includes craft beers and cocktails. As reported in Boston Magazine, Alamo’s Seaport location has partnered with Dorchester Brewing, creating an exclusive hazy IPA. "The rest of the beer list is packed with selections from other local brewers, currently including a Notch pilsner, an Ipswich oatmeal stout, a Night Shift hazy pale ale, and lots of other familiar Greater Boston brews, plus some options from farther away," as stated in the article.

The lobby features a bar called The Press Room. That's open to everyone, not just movie goers. They are planning some fun community events in the Press Room in the near future. From speed dating to board games nights, there's bound to be something for everyone.

Most of Alamo's food is made right there on site. You can check out their menu, HERE.  You will find "Royale with Cheese" Burger, fresh from the oven pizzas and warm chocolate chip cookies! And it's all delivered right to your seat. I can't wait to check it out.

The Oscars have come and gone, but we still have the movies on our mind. Let's dig into this Top 10 list of movies filmed in Massachusetts.

The list comes courtesy of BetMassachusetts. They titled it Top 10 Massachusetts Movies: Best Movies Filmed in Massachusetts. Pretty straightforward, right? But you might ask: how did they come up with this particular Top 10? What's the methodology? It's quite simple. They used the IMDB ratings of the films, alongside the Rotten Tomatoes audience score, Rotten Tomatoes critics score, Box Office tally, and Oscar recognition. In other words, the data is sound.

We'll get into the Top 10 below, but I wanted to share some thoughts first. I like this list because the film you'd expect to sit atop the Top 10 actually lands in second place. It's always a treat when you get an unexpected outcome like that. What's more, the Top 10 consists primarily of films released in the last 20 years. That's refreshing. Usually, with a "Top 10 Movies" list you end up with a lot of older fare. Which is fine. But again, the treat of the unexpected outcome makes this list a standout for me.

A Top 10 List of Movies Filmed in Massachusetts

One more note before we dive in: the movie that landed at number three is a must-see. It was released just a few years ago and, when it was, I had friends and family members harping on me to watch it. I put it off and put it off and, when I finally got around to it, I was blown away. It's not often you have a film with a protagonist who you're rooting for but who, at the same time, is so damn unlikable.

Take a look at the list and let us know your faves that were left off on the ROCK 92.9 Facebook and Twitter. Maybe we can make our own Top 10 list together!
