The things people will do for free food. When I first heard about a promotion the sandwich chain, Subway, was conducting, I thought nobody would enter. I was completely wrong. So wrong. As announced yesterday, nearly 10,000 people agreed to change their name to “Subway” for free sandwiches!
If you were thinking of volunteering to change your name, you’re too late to the party. as USA Today reported. They went on to share that the official rules state the Name Change Challenge entry period ended on August 4. Geeze and I was really looking forward to being Subway Kruse. Sounds a little like a Disney ride for toddlers.
The person who becomes Ms. or Mr. Subway will enjoy deli sandwiches for life from the popular chain. But that’s not all. According to Subway, the winner will also get money to cover the costs changing their name, and the red tape that goes along with that process. But just think, the winner will never have to wonder what’s for dinner again. Could get monotonous, but still, super convenient for working parents! Or anyone, for that matter.
As the Subway press release states the winner will be announced later this month. The new ‘Subway’ (insert last name here) will get a lifetime of free sandwiches from what the company calls their ” biggest refresh yet, following the debut of freshly sliced meats in U.S. restaurants and elevating its entire menu earlier this summer with a new line up of Deli Hero subs to its Subway Series menu.” Did you think this many people would volunteer to give up their name? 10,000 people agreed to change their name to “Subway” for free Sandwiches. Good luck to the new “Subway.” And pass the mustard, please.
