Climb Fenway Is Your Chance To Explore Park And Help A Great Cause
Fenway Park is in the final days of prep before officially opening its doors for the 2024 season. The Boston Red Sox home opener is Tuesday, April 9 vs. the Baltimore Orioles, the first of ten home games in a row, over three series. Then, on Sunday April 21 Climb Fenway will take over the stadium.
From 9 am to 12 pm participants will take steps to end homelessness. “We will climb 1,803 stairs—one for every adult currently experiencing homelessness in Boston,” Climb For A Cause states. The initiative is in conjunction with Project Place’s efforts to raise the awareness of homelessness and poverty in the greater metropolitan area.
The fundraising goal is $500,000, and the organization is well on its way to exceeding that number, having raised over $350,000.
“Of course, 100% of the funds raised for Climb for a Cause directly support Project Place’s mission to permanently break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by creating pathways to employment and housing,” Climb Fenway continues.
What Does Climb Fenway Entail?
If you’ve ever wondered about all the different site-lines of historic Fenway Park, this is a great opportunity to explore the entire park. Hit all the steps to the top of the bleachers and walk through the grandstand tunnels without the game day crowds.
Climb Fenway is also a family-friendly event where you can grab some favorite stadium food items, which will also be available at concession areas. If you can not climb or prefer to simply be part of the rally, you can do that, too. There will be baseball-themed clappers and pom-poms available to help cheer on all the participants.
If you are interested in attending Climb Fenway there is a specific registration process to be aware of. First, to accommodate the suggested $50 fee (donation) you must select if it will be a fundraising effort or if you will pay it upfront. Then, you must decide how you are going to climb. There are both individual and team options available.
Lastly, detail your fundraising plans and initiatives. Regardless of your approach, your efforts will show that you are linking with Climb For A Cause to address homelessness in Boston.
