Tool‘s first show of 2020 took place on January 10 in San Diego, which happened to be the day Neil Peart‘s passing was made public after the Rush drummer died on January 7 due to brain cancer. The band, however, still managed to pay tribute to Peart on short notice.

Fan shot video below shows Carey performing a drum solo while a photo of he and Peart is projected behind him. (Side note: Kudos to this fan for being able to capture this video considering Tool’s very strict cell phone policy during shows.)

Per Setlist.fm, Tool also performed a portion of “A Passage to Bangkok” from 2112 during the show, but video has yet to surface of that moment.
