Welcome to another edition of Today in Boston ROCK, where I, Adam 12, spotlight Very Important Days In Rock History. February 4th is one.
February 4, 1948: Vincent Damon Furnier is born in Detroit, Michigan. You know him as Alice Cooper, and anyone in the last 50 years who has incorporated any type of horror or theatrics into their stage show–from Madonna to Marilyn Manson to Taylor Swift–owes the man some respect.
February 4, 1980: The Ramones release End Of The Century: the first, last, and only album they would ever work on with producer and lunatic Phil Spector. You know, because of the whole “he-pulled-a-gun-on-the-band” thing.
February 4, 1992: Alice In Chains release their 4-song EP Sap. (It actually has 5 songs; there’s a hidden track.) See which song made your Top 5–and Adam 12’s Top 5–in this year’s edition of Vote for the GOAT.
Want more ROCK history, with a Boston twist? It’s all right here.
