If you missed Metallica live in Boston for Boston Calling Music Festival, you’re in luck: the set is set for a worldwide release.

Metallica Live in Boston

Live Metallica: Boston, MA – May 29, 2022 ships out and hits stores on July 8. You can pre-order the 2CD set here. The release is described as the “complete audio recording recorded live from the Boston Calling Festival at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Boston, Massachusetts – May 29, 2022.”

Again, that’s the info for the 2CD set. If you’re looking for a digital download of the show, LiveMetallica.com will have those once the release becomes official.

What’s the setlist?

If you were lucky enough to be one of the tens of thousands on hand for the Sunday night set that closed down Boston Calling, you remember Metallica opened with “Whiplash” and closed with “Enter Sandman.” As far as what came in between, check out the tracklist below.

Tracklist:

  1. Whiplash
  2. Ride the Lightning
  3. The Memory Remains
  4. Seek and Destroy
  5. Holier Than Thou
  6. One
  7. Sad But True
  8. Whiskey in the Jar
  9. Wherever I May Roam
  10. For Whom the Bell Tolls
  11. Creeping Death
  12. Fade to Black
  13. Master of Puppets
  14. Battery
  15. Nothing Else Matters
  16. Enter Sandman

What else?

The price tag on this one is worth mentioning. The 2CD set will set you back $19.81. You know, because 1981 is the year Metallica formed. Clever move on their part, but I’m just stoked I can get a double Metallica album for under twenty bucks.

You can get a full recap of the 2022 edition of Boston Calling Music Festival–complete with Metallica coverage–right here. And there’s more pics of Metallica’s Sunday headlining set below, as well as a bit of video. I wonder if they’ll leave Kirk Hammett’s snafu during the intro of “Nothing Else Matters” in the finished version of the live release? I hope they do.

  • "Nothing Else Matters"

  • "For Whom The Bell Tolls"
