Are You Ditching the Bars to Sauna With Your Buddies?
People are Ditching the Bars to Hit The Sauna With Their Buddies?
Do you enjoy going to bars with your buddies for Happy Hour, or maybe just on the weekends to let loose? Have you ever considered hitting the gym and getting a steam instead. Apparently, there is a movement of people ditching the bars and hitting the sauna with their buddies. Willing to give it a try?
According to NYPost, “It may be winter and there may be a biting chill in the air, but the dozen men and women who have packed this small sauna room in east London are happily sweating away in their swimwear. It’s more than 194 Fahrenheit in here — and it’s about to get even hotter. Sauna-bathing has taken London and the rest of the UK by storm, particularly among trendy 20- and 30-somethings interested in trying a new pastime that’s healthier than nights out in pubs and bars.”
Now, I must admit it does sound like a healthier way to spend your time. Steam rooms are known for relieving stress and helping people to relax. It can help with all sorts of things health-wise. It’s a different environment to the bars as well. Some people might be drinking or using substances during their unconventional parties too, and it’s suggested that there might be DJ’s in some of these as well.
I can’t imagine any of us deciding to skip a Happy Hour to pile into a sauna together, but we usually don’t follow the trends. We also don’t hang out at all outside of the show so it would be even more odd for us to gather in a steam room for some group relaxation.
