Andy Green Death Hoax?
Dave Accidentally Started an Andy Green Death Hoax
Comedy isn’t always easy. Occasionally, things can be misinterpreted and jokes fly over people’s heads. In our case, a post Dave made about a guy dying from Andy’s worst nightmare, constipation, turned into an accidental Andy Green Death Hoax.
According to NYPost, “A dad who suspected he had gallstones or was constipated has tragically been told he has “weeks to a few months to live” – after his condition was revealed to be bowel cancer. Kev Coles, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs., was diagnosed with stage four cancer in September last year after months of stomach pain. The 46-year-old dad-of-seven says he suffered none of the typical symptoms for bowel cancer – so was shocked when doctors told him the severity of his illness. Wife Kayleigh Coles, 36, encouraged him to visit the doctors over the pain for the first time in July 2024 – where she claims he was sent away. “
So, Dave posted this story and captioned it with, “Andy’s worst nightmare”. People thought Dave was saying that Andy was dying and started commenting with their condolences and sorrow. We still are not sure how anybody was able to think that caption or post had anything to do with Andy dying. Dave ultimately had to delete the post because so many people were thinking Andy had died.
Dave accidentally started a death hoax about a member of the show! It’s really crazy. There a few issues that we take from this. One, how can we make a joke if no one gets it. Two, don’t people know what Andy Green looks like. Three, if Andy did die, there would a much more heartfelt and serious post made about him, not just a passing article. Fourth, do people think Andy’s death made the New York Post?
So many questions, so much confusion.
