Metallica Continues Their Charitable Ways in St. Louis
Metallica recently wrapped up a tour stop in St. Louis. And they left the Gateway City better off than they found it.
St. Louis was treated to the band’s No Repeat Weekend at the Dome at America’s Center. We still have to wait awhile for our stop–August 2nd and 4th at Gillette Stadium. But hey, you can enter to win tickets while you wait. And you can read about how the band and their fans are continuing to make a positive impact across the country. Let’s actually start by revisiting a story from earlier this year.
Metallica’s Scholars Initiative, an extension of the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation, has returned to Mass. You might remember the Foundation from their Month of Giving. Metallica and their various fan club chapters–including Masster of Puppets, the Official Metclub Chapter of Massachusetts–worked throughout May to raise funds for The Farmlink Project. I had the pleasure of speaking with AWMH’s Director of Philanthropy Renee Richardson about the initiative. Listen to our chat here.
Metallica Continues Their Charitable Ways in St. Louis
Now Missouri is in the spotlight. From the press release: “Metallica’s St. Louis Takeover was capped with $100,000 in grants to three organizations doing vital work in the Gateway City and beyond: St. Louis Area Foodbank, The Women’s Safe House, and The Farmlink Project. With the help of fans who attended the No Repeat Weekend at the Dome at America’s Center, three organizations received support from Metallica, All Within My Hands, and the fans.”
You can read more about the organizations and AWMH here. And while I’d love to share some live footage from the St. Louis tour stop, they band hasn’t shared any yet. So let’s instead watch the live version of “One” they delivered in Indio, CA back in October. It rips.
