Massachusetts Fast Food Restaurant Closing – Reportedly Owes $300,000 in Back Rent!
When I was younger, as a renter, if I was even just one week late with my sub-$1000 rent my landlord would get a bit fussy. I’m sure he wouldn’t let me do that 300 times in a row. LOL
Enter the Fall River location of Boston Market. The restaurant, which is located at 30 12th Street in Fall River, has a sign taped to the front door explaining that the location would be shut down permanently unless the company pays over $290,000 in back rent. According to the note, the restaurant has until on September 3rd to pay up. I don’t know what the location’s profit margins are but that’s a heck of a lot of chicken to sell in a week.
This is obviously bad news for Fall River-area fans of the restaurant and even worse news for employees at the location, who we hear haven’t been paid recently either. Our thoughts go out to anyone effected by this unfortunate situation.
And now let’s play fast food armchair quarterback. With Boston Market probable closing there’s some prime real estate for another fast casual restaurant to jump in!
Here in Massachusetts we have enough Dunkin’ locations to give Godzilla the coffee shakes. But there are some national chains that have zero presence in the Bay State. For instance, I don’t even know what goes on an In-N-Out Burger. They’re all the rage in Los Angeles so I’ll guess they’re topped with ketchup and mustard and plastic surgeon business cards. Am I right?
So what fast food joints do we have to go traveling out-of-state to devour? Here are 10 Popular National Fast Food Chains that don’t yet have a Massachusetts location. Maybe one of these could fill the soon-to-be-former Fall River Boston Market location. If you’ve tried any of the following restaurants, let us know what you thought! Would you like to see them come to Mass or stay far faaaaarrrrrr away?
