  • 1948

    December 3, 1948. The Prince of Darkness himself is born. John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne emerged from the womb at Marston Green Maternity Hospital in Coleshill, England on this very day, so let’s celebrate by revisiting Ozzy’s “controversial” show at Boston Garden in April of 1982.

    We’d be remiss in celebrating Ozzy if we didn’t take a moment to appreciate his Black Sabbath years. So here, for your perusal, are The Best 30 Songs From The Ozzy Osbourne Era(s), Ranked.

  • 1984

    December 3, 1984. The “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” single by Band Aid is released. Years ago, Sacramento rock band Far covered the song with a twist: vocalist Jonah Matragna and guest vocalist Chino Moreno (of Deftones fame) impersonated pretty much all of the vocalists from the original version. It’s a holiday hoot.

  • 2015

    December 3, 2015. Scott Weiland is found dead on his tour bus in Bloomington, MN at the age of 48. The cause of death would later be found to be an accidental overdose of cocaine, alcohol, and MDA. We look back on his legacy in pictures here, and I’ve shared one of my favorite vocal performances of his below.
