In case you missed the news, Thanksgiving weekend is a Rock Reunion Weekend on ROCK 92.9. All weekend long, we’ll be serving up helpings of tunes for the Class of ’92, the Class of ’97, and the Class of ’02. Why? Do the math! It’s 2022. That means the Class of ’92 has their 30th reunion this weekend, the Class of ’97 has their 25th, and the Class of ’02 has their 20th. If that makes you feel old, we apologize wholeheartedly. But we don’t make the rules. Math is math.
Lucky for you (and for us), 1992, 1997, and 2022 were chock-full of great rock records. Alice In Chains Dirt dropped in 1992 on the same day as Stone Temple Pilots Core. 1997 saw the release of Foo Fighters The Colour and the Shape, and their One By One album released 5 years after that, in 2002. 2002 also saw the self-tiled debut album from Audioslave. So yeah, 2002 has seen its fair share of 30th, 25th, and 20th anniversary of big rock releases. So we figured, why not soundtrack the Thanksgiving holiday weekend–aka the Big Reunion Weekend–with the songs that were big back then?

And we haven’t even mentioned the one-offs and one-hit-wonders from those years! You’ll hear plenty of those all weekend long, alongside singles and deep cuts from the albums mentioned above. I gave a sampling below to both give you a taste of what you’ll hear on our Rock Reunion Weekend, but also to have at the ready anytime you want to travel back in time to ’92, ’97, or ’02.
