Target to Pay $70 Million in Holiday Bonuses
It looks like it will be a prosperous holiday season for Target employees.
The retail giant on Wednesday announced it will be giving about $70 million in holiday bonuses to its employees for “working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The bonus, after being divided among 350,000 workers, comes out to $200 per employee.
The news comes about three months after Target raised its new hire starting wage to $15 an hour.
“In a year like no other, I’m proud of what this team has accomplished,” says Target’s human resources officer, Melissa Kremer, “and grateful for the care and connection they’ve provided our guests and communities.”
