Dumb Criminal Busted Assembling Scooter He Just Stole Outside the Store

A Florida man named Patrick Vandermeyden-Miller was recently dubbed “dumb criminal of the week” by the local Sheriff.

Vandermeyden-Miller was arrested outside of a Palm Coast Target for allegedly stealing an electric scooter.

According to reports Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a man that walked past the check out lines of a Target store with an electric scooter and never paid for it.  When the deputies responded Vandermeyden-Miller was not hard to find…he was assembling the scooter right outside the front door.

The reporting party observed a white male select a “Razor” brand electric scooter valued at $539.99 and pass all points of sale without paying before exiting the store. Upon arrival, deputies located a man matching the suspect’s description assembling the electric scooter in front of the store on the sidewalk. The male, later identified as Patrick Vandermeyden-Miller, was placed under arrest for Petit Theft. Upon a search of his person, drug paraphernalia was located in his pocket. Vandermeyden-Miller was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on charges of Petit Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on $2,000 bond. “This dumb criminal of the week must have thought he was in another state or city where it’s okay to walk into a store and steal what you want and not face any consequences,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “He didn’t get to ride ‘his’ Razor but he did get a free ride to the Green Roof Inn in the backseat of a patrol car!”

Thank goodness this banger of a track was used in Vacation, or else we may have ended up forgetting all about it altogether.
