Eight New Restaurants to Open in Boston Area This Spring
Boston’s dining and entertainment scene is set for a vibrant spring with several highly anticipated openings. Park City, a 30,000-square-foot outdoor playground for adults, will debut in May in South Boston. It will feature food, drinks, and live music, with a menu curated by culinary director Mike Sanchez.
Food lovers can look forward to Nowon, a Korean American gastropub known for its cheeseburgers and rice cakes, making its Boston debut in the Seaport in late March or early April. Third Time Ice Cream, a popular pop-up, will transition into a permanent East Somerville location in late spring or early summer, expanding its coffee and food offerings.
Bagel fans can celebrate as Brick Street Bagels, a beloved pop-up, opens its first brick-and-mortar location in South Boston in May while continuing its weekend pop-ups at the Buttery.
For those seeking farm-to-table dining, Fallow Kin will open in April at the former Craigie on Main. It will emphasize vegetable-centric dishes and a zero-waste approach using locally sourced produce.
Meanwhile, Cambridge welcomes Nine Winters, a Korean American bakery and café at 292 Concord Avenue, opening in early spring with pastries, high-quality coffee, and light meals. Central Square will also see the arrival of Darling, a cocktail bar and dim sum restaurant backed by industry veterans, opening in May.
The team behind Italian steakhouse Prima is launching a new South End restaurant. It is expected to feature a spacious outdoor patio, and further details will be announced soon.
The additions are “not just growth, but intentional growth,” said Central Square BID president Michael Monestime. He noted that they follow a month-long series of sessions shaping a five-year plan for Central Square. Many of these new businesses were promised at the organization’s annual breakfast, where community leaders discussed plans following the closure of Starlight Square, an open-air entertainment and civic complex that outlasted its Covid-era launch.
Boston’s culinary landscape continues to evolve, offering an exciting mix of global flavors, innovative concepts, and new gathering spaces for locals and visitors.
