Twin Donuts, a beloved breakfast and lunch spot in Allston, will close its doors later this month after 70 years in business.

The Boston Restaurant Talk blog reported that multiple sources, including those in the media and restaurant industries, confirmed that Twin Donuts is closing. A post within the Allston Brighton Facebook group displayed a note that revealed the Cambridge Street cafe's last day of business is Sunday, March 23. The note encouraged patrons to support Cafe Mirror and Brighton Cafe, both located in Brighton and owned by Twin Donuts management.

Originally opened in the mid-1950s, Twin Donuts has experienced several ownership changes over the past several years. The current owners took over the business in 2001.

In addition to doughnuts, Twin Donuts also serves bagels, croissants, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, salads, and omelets.

Twin Donuts is at 501 Cambridge Street in Allston.
