Sam Adams Teams with NHL Star Brad Marchand for New Beer Release
Boston’s Sam Adams Brewery is set to release “The Marchand(y)” on March 30, a team-up with former Bruins star Brad Marchand. Beer lovers can grab this special edition at the brewery’s Boston spots.
The new drink mixes tangy blackberry with a light shandy-style ale, putting a fresh spin on a summer favorite. Interested drinkers can check it out at either the Sam Adams Boston Brewery or their Downtown Boston Taproom.
“I will always be a Bostonian at heart,” said Marchand to Boston 25 News.
The timing of this beer release hits hard, coming just after the star’s March 8 move to Florida. Still, it shows the deep bond between the feisty left wing and the city where he spent 16 memorable seasons.
A new commercial shows the hockey star causing mischief at the brewery – a fun reference to his reputation as the NHL’s biggest agitator during his impressive career.
Just before the trade, Marchand hit a big milestone by playing his 1,000th NHL game on February 13. He’s one of only eight Bruins greats to reach this achievement.
His time in Boston peaked with the 2011 Stanley Cup win. Now the Panthers have picked up the talented forward as his Bruins story comes to an end.
