Guster On the Ocean Weekend 2024 Brings Cool, Clear Vibes to Portland
The Guster On the Ocean Weekend is the latest music festival that’s set to make the 2024 summer concert season a memorable one.
It really has been an embarrassment of riches this summer. Somerville’s NICE a fest expanded to four days, the Lowell Folk Festival and Rat City Arts Festival packed a lot into their two- and one-day fests. And then there’s the Ripe Summer Beach Party.
Yes, the Summer of ROCK has delivered. And while our focus at ROCK 92.9 has been mainly on Massachusetts, I want to shine the spotlight on what Guster is doing in Maine this month for their On the Ocean Weekend.
Guster On the Ocean Weekend: When?
The Weekend starts on Friday! Guster opens the festivities on Friday, August 9 with a headlining set at the State Theatre in Portland. From there, the action moves to Thompson’s Point for a two full days of music on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11.
Guster On the Ocean Weekend: Where?
If you’re not wise to Portland, ME, or if it’s been awhile since you’ve made a trip, we’ve got you. The State Theatre is located in Downtown Portland, at 609 Congress St. Thompson’s Point is about 5 miles away; a 10-minute-drive.
Guster On the Ocean Weekend: Who
Guster is playing three sets in three days (they’re headlining Saturday and Sunday), which is impressive. The rest of the lineup is, too. Toad the Wet Sprocket, Grace Turner, and Kevin Morby are the standout names. Peep the rest of the acts below.
Guster On the Ocean Weekend: What Else?
The Weekend really is embracing the festival atmosphere, with a merch pop-up, karaoke, and costume-encouraged contests. Local food trucks and breweries will be out in full force. And it’s family-friendly, too! For more information, and to grab your tickets, head over here.
