A 52-Year-Old Who Keyed a Car Called It a “Spring Break Mistake”

A Missouri man vacationing in Florida is facing some trouble after he took a butter knife to a couple’s 2023 Nissan.

According to reports the owners of the vehicle spotted a man standing near their car “making motions” near the driver’s door. When the couple confronted the man, he just laughed and ran down the street.

After looking the car over, they discovered the side of their car was scratched up and the paint was damaged. Next to the car was a butter knife that he was using. The car had over $1000 worth of damage.

This whole situation took place outside a restaurant.  Police where able to use the security footage to get the phone number of the suspect, who could be seen writing it down on a wait list. Police called  Clifford Craig Edwards, who admitted to the crime, and called it a “spring break mistake.”

Edwards was arrested on a felony criminal mischief charge.
