Which is the best diner in Massachusetts?   We started with 64 competitors in our latest bracket, Greasy and Over Easy, and you’ve crowned a winner….

                                                              The Best Diner in Massachusetts

You crowned the winner the Galley Diner.  Congrats to them! Here’s what their website says: “If you are looking the best diner in South Boston look no further than the Galley Diner. Serving up breakfast 7 days a week along with lunch Monday thru Friday, the fresh ingredients and large portions will keep you coming back time and time again. Did we mention… The Galley Diner was awarded “Best Diner” by  Boston Magazine for 2013 and 2014.”

The Greasy and Over Easy bracket started with 64 diners and breakfast joints back in July. They were scattered throughout the Commonwealth: Boston, North Shore, South Shore, Metro West, the Cape, and beyond. And, most importantly, they were chosen by you.

The runner up was  the Agawam Diner. From their website, here’s the background: “The Agawam Diner is a historic diner at 166 Newburyport Turnpike (U.S. Route 1) in Rowley Massachusetts. You can find sisters Angela and Ethel and a whole lot of comfort food at The Agawam Diner. Situated in a vintage dining car, The Agawam Diner has been serving the locals of Rowley, Massachusetts since 1940.”

Every Massachusetts Restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There’s just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What’s extra cool is that Fieri has come to Massachusetts multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.

We used TVFoodmaps.com and FlavortownUSA.com to seek out every restaurant in the Bay State that’s been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. While sadly a few of them have closed for good, most likely victims of the COVID-19 pandemic, Massachusetts still boasts over 30 locations that are mere driving distance away.

From Polish and Italian to places for brunch and seafood, the list criss-crosses Massachusetts with a number of local eateries just begging to be put on your mini road trip list.
