Zack de la Rocha Injures Leg During RATM Show
Zack de la Rocha sustained a leg injury during Rage Against the Machine’s show in Chicago last night (July 11) that resulted in the singer performing the bulk of the setlist while seated.
Consequence reports de la Rocha’s injury happened just four songs into Rage’s set that resulted in a short break during which the singer exited the stage with help from nearby stage staff.
Fortunately, he was able to power through the injury and belted out the vocals while sitting on a stage monitor. Unsurprisingly, de la Rocha remained defiant telling the crowd in the United Center in the fan-shot footage below, “I don’t know what happened to my leg right now. Straight up, but you know what? We’re gonna keep this f—ing s— going. I can crawl across this stage. We’re gonna play for you all tonight.”
de la Rocha would then be carried off the stage at the end of the show while flashing a peace sign to the crowd. As Consequence notes below, someone better reach out to Dave Grohl to potentially rent his epic throne from when he broke his leg after falling off stage back in 2015. A handful of people have even used it after Grohl, most notably Axl Rose.
