Home Depot Giving Workers A Raise As Business Booms
Home Depot has been doing big business during the pandemic – and now they’re sharing some of that boom with employees.
The company reported a 24% increase in sales last quarter, as people focus on home improvement projects during the pandemic.
“Our ability to effectively adapt to this high-demand environment is a testament to both the investments we have made in the business as well as our associates’ focus on customers,” said CEO Craig Menear in a statement.
“I am proud of the resilience and strength our associates have continued to demonstrate, and I would like to thank them and our supplier partners.”
Now the company is handing out $1 billion in pay increases for hourly workers – turning temporary pandemic bonuses into a permanent pay raise.
