Coming Attraction: The Leonid Meteor Shower
There’s about to be a spectacular show high in the sky.
The Leonid meteor shower is coming up, bringing with it a dazzling display of shooting stars.
It happens when the Earth passes through the trail of dust shed from the comet Tempel-Tuttle.
Scientists say you can catch the Leonids starting Friday through the end of November, with a peak in the late evening of November 16.
Wondering how to catch the show? Really all you need to do is look skyward, but for the best conditions, try and plan to be away from population centers to reduce light pollution.
