Jackson Browne Releases Earth Day Song ‘Downhill From Everywhere’
Jackson Browne released a new Earth Day-themed song titled “Downhill From Everywhere.”
Per Rolling Stone, the track will be featured on Browne’s new studio album, which is due out October 9, and provided the soundtrack to the trailer for the new documentary The Story of Plastic. The documentary chronically plastics pollution will premiere on the Discovery Channel tomorrow (April 22), which is Earth Day.
Brown said in a statement to Rolling Stone, “Plastic is a great and really useful thing, for medical uses for instance. But it’s just absurd that we use it to deliver things like water. That bottle will be around for hundreds of years and does not biodegrade. This movement has got a lot of attention and a lot of support, because it’s so visible now. It’s no longer something that can be sort of swept under the rug.”
Browne made headlines last month when he went public with testing positive for COVID-19. He told Rolling Stone at the time, “My symptoms are really pretty mild, so I don’t require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalization or anything like that.”
