Five Finger Death Punch: New Album Highlights Ivan Moody’s Sobriety Journey
Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody has been very vocal about his sobriety journey, and it’s something that will be addressed on the new FFDP album.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory said in a new interview with Greensboro, N.C.’s News & Record, “He came through hell. He came back. And that journey, that message is there in the lyrics. A lot of it is about that, his experiences of what happened to him when he was down, how people treated him. He came back, and how people doubted him, that he could come back. And when he comes back, the world is different and he has a different attitude. He can process what happened as a person. So all of those phases, lyrically, are definitely on the record.”
FFDP has been sharing updates on the new album since they first entered the studio back in May. The album, per News & Record, is expected out in 2020. The band just launched a U.S. arena tour with Three Days Grace, Bad Wolves and Fire From the Gods. A full list of tour dates can be found at FiveFingerDeathPunch.com.
