David Ellefson Comments on Dave Mustaine’s Health
Megadeth is hard at work on their sixteenth studio album, which is proving to be a pleasant distraction after frontman Dave Mustaine announced in June he was diagnosed with throat cancer.
Bassist David Ellefson touched on both Mustaine’s current health and working on the new Megadeth LP in a recent appearance on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown and had this to say:
“Dave’s doing well. He’s going through his treatments, and we certainly appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers on that matter. In his press announcement, he’s going to keep us updated, so I’ll defer to that for any actual updates. I think having the Megadeth record in the works has kept us all hooked together. It’s kept a good unity in our camp, and I think it’s kind of a good vision of hope to keep working forward on a creative endeavor together.”
Megadeth canceled their remaining 2019 tour dates in light of Mustaine’s diagnosis but are still pressing on with the MegaCruise, which takes place October 13-18. Full details can be found at MegaCruise.com.
