The better vacation day or better day off conversation was started by Hardy last week. Now it’s this weeks’ 12 Inch Poll.

The 12-Inch Poll, in case you don’t know, is posted up every Wednesday on ROCK 92.9. For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been throwing things back to the ’80s and ’90s with some Gen X-themed polls. Last week I asked what your favorite back-in-the-day munchie was in my Gen X junk food poll. And before that, it was Gen X drinks, with all the sugary crap we liked to quaff as kids. I keep the 12-Inch Poll open indefinitely, so feel free to cast your vote in either of those if you haven’t yet.

Hardy hosts weekdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on ROCK 92.9, after wrapping up is daily show on our sister station 98.5 The Sports Hub. He and his co-hosts were recently playing a little game of “this or that” on the air. You know that game; you’ve probably played it countless times with friends and family in the car on long road trips. In this case, Hardy is asking the following: in a random work week, without a holiday, you can have a Friday off or a Monday off. Which one would you choose?

What’s a Better Vacation Day: Friday or Monday?

That’s a pretty damn good question for a 12-Inch Poll, I’d say. I started to think about it, then I realized that I was thinking too hard about it, so I went with my gut and chose Friday. Predictably, Hardy informed me that I was wrong and that the correct answer–which is the one he chose–is Monday. Listen to our chat below and you’ll hear us give the reasons why we chose the days we did. Then vote for your preferred day so we can settle this once and for all.

  • Adam 12 & Hardy Talk Monday or Friday

I’m taking Friday off. Hardy’s taking Monday off. Oil and water, the two of us.

  • Monday: Pro

Susanna Hoffs wishes it were Sunday. Because that’s her fun day, you see. Monday’s are manic and not to be trusted as a work day.

  • Monday: Con

Then again, The Mamas & The Papas do make a good point. “Can’t trust that day…” So maybe not the best day to take off of work.

  • Friday: Pro

If Robert Smith of The Cure is to believed, then Friday is the day to be in love. And who wants to spend a day like that at work? Take it off and get your lover to do the same.

  • Friday: Con

I have no idea what Jeremy Enigk of Sunny Day Real Estate is singing here. (Actually, I do; I’m a huge fan). Anyway, it sounds ominous and decidedly anti-Friday.
