As we move forward into 2024, let's take a brief look back at what were the most expensive concert tickets of 2023.

The list comes courtesy of Gametime. They bill themselves as "the leading app/site for last minute tickets." At the end of the year, Gametime shared their Top 10 Concert Tours and Performers in the U.S. for 2023, based on median ticket price. That last bit is the important part, as it's going to put an artist in the Number One spot that you're not expecting to be in the Number One spot.

All told, these most expensive concert tickets are bananas. I actually wrote about that last year: Concert Ticket Prices Are Insane, and It Will Likely Stay That Way. There are a number of reasons why, including dynamic pricing, high demand for live music post-pandemic, and big artists not stepping up and using their influence to stem the recent rise in concert ticket prices. Read it here.

The Top 10 Most Expensive Concert Tickets of 2023

Before we move on, let's revisit what we can do. Like taking full advantage of freebees. Here at ROCK 92.9, we're doing everything we can to get as many free concert tickets as possible to give away to you. You want to see shows, we know the tickets are too damn expensive. So take advantage of us. Enter to win tickets–all the tickets you possibly can–every chance you get.

And support local acts and venues. Yes, I know it's not the same as seeing your favorite superstar act at a big venue. But after you see some of the most expensive concert tickets from Gametime's Top 10 below, I'd like to think you'll welcome hitting your local small venue and checking out a local act or two. It's never too late to redefine your relationship with live music.

10) Garth Brooks

Median Ticket Price: $288 per ticket

So does that mean if Garth Brooks comes back as Chris Gaines in 2024 the median ticket price will only be $144?

9) Suga

Median Ticket Price: $309 per ticket

Suga started his music career 10 years ago as a member of BTS, so that explains it all.

8) Morgan Wallen

Median Ticket Price: $329 per ticket

Our friends from the country station down the hall confirmed: this was the big country ticket of 2023. Wonder if he played this one.

7) Harry Styles

Median Ticket Price: $357.50 per ticket

That ex-boy-band solo artist energy is strong on the bottom half of this list.

6) Bruno Mars

Median Ticket Price: $391 per ticket

Good for Bruno, but who's paying almost $400 for a ticket when you can just watch him play the 2014 Super Blow Halftime Show with the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

5) Usher

Median Ticket Price: $406 per ticket

Literally haven't thought of Usher in like 10 years. Had no idea he was still a going concern. Last music of his I heard was when one of my kids found this when they were like 6 and into Minecraft.

4) Drake

Median Ticket Price: $473 per ticket

Drake stinks. He's the oatmeal of his genre: soft, bland. You're a fool if you pay this much to see him live.

3) U2

Median Ticket Price: $502 per ticket

Finally, a rock act! U2 at The Sphere cost a pretty penny in 2023, but from what I hear it was worth it.

2) Taylor Swift

Median Ticket Price: $958 per ticket

What did I tell you? The Number One you expected to be Number one did not end up at Number One!

1) Adele

Median Ticket Price: $1011 per ticket

Bow to your queen of overpriced concert tickets in 2023. Bow to Adele!
