Aside from a festival in town, this coming weekend we will see an incredible amount of big name artists playing shows in Boston, simultaneously. In the span of three days, each venue will be filled with a major show. In addition, the Celtics are hosting the Miami Heat at the TD Garden.
Concerts
To start, Taylor-mania is in full force. Taylor Swift brings her highly anticipated The Eras Tour to Gillette Stadium for three straight nights. This kicks off Friday night. There are many reasons to get there early, but one in particular is to catch Phoebe Bridgers who is an opening act.
Also on Friday night, 10 miles down RT 495, Janet Jackson and the Together Again tour will be town. This show includes Ludacris as a special guest opening act.
Blink 182 have reformed with their original lineup. They will be rocking the TD Garden on Sunday night. Alt Rock bands White Reaper and Turnstile are opening this show.
Comedy
Flying under the radar this week, from May 16 – May 20 the Boston Comedy festival takes over the city. City Winery has shows every day. To close out the event, comedienne Sonja Morgan is headlining on Saturday night. She plans to deliver an, “unfiltered conversation that will have you seeing double and feeling single.”
Speaking of Morgans, coincidentally, Tracy Morgan is taking the stage at The Wilbur. This is also on Saturday night.
Lastly, performing Sunday night at the Wilbur, Samantha Bee’s comedy tour rolls into town.
What Else?
That’s not all. The aforementioned playoff game between the Celtics and Miami Heat is Friday night. Tipoff is at 8:30pm. Singer-songwriter, Josh Ritter is playing the House of Blues on Saturday. If you need a mellow warm-up to get you going, Citizen Cope is performing tonight at The Wilbur.
The New England area is the place to be for entertainment over the next few days. With plenty of big name artists playing shows in Boston this weekend, here are a few helpful tips to be aware of.
