Day 1 of Boston Calling Music Festival 2023 did not disappoint! Check out some highlights and favorite moments from The Dropkick Murphy's, The National, Foo Fighters and more!
The festival Friday kicked off with arguably the best weather day of the Memorial Day weekend: clear, sunny, and slightly breezy. The Dropkick Murphys set was the perfect shot-in-the-arm to get the energy up and get everyone pumped up. Originally, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were slated to play on Friday. Their last-minute bow-out opened up the slot for DKM, and they did not disappoint.
The biggest Friday moment, however, was the Foo Fighters headlining. Everyone we've talked to in the days since the festival that witnessed the set has shared how emotional it was for them. Adam 12 reviewed the gig here. And we took plenty of pics, too.
