New England Restaurant Serves Incredible Pasta Sandwiches
A big bowl of pasta and piled high sandwich are two of the biggest fan-favorite meals in the country. There’s a New England restaurant you need to know about that is putting the two of them together and creating these amazing pasta sandwiches.
How do you create such a thing? Well, in short, it’s simply a long rub roll where the middle is filled with hot pasta mixes instead of your traditional deli meat.
Pasta sandwiches are certainly a big attraction at this restaurant but the menu is filled with outrageous items.
We’re heading to Stamford, Connecticut to visit the Elm Street Diner. Located conveniently at 463 Elm Street, this restaurant has been serving the community since 1987. “Our goal is to provide you with not only quality food, but an unparalleled dining experience,” they say.
What Are The Pasta Sandwiches On The Elm Street Diner Menu?
Bear with me for a minute. If you are viewing the Elm Street Diner menu you have to navigate through a lot of eye-catching descriptions. Pancake tacos, loaded fries, and Oreo Belgian waffles are nothing to skim over, but let’s settle on the menu category of “Stacked Sandwiches” under the Social Media superstars page.
Here you will find the like of “Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Chicken Parm,” and “Crispy Chicken Fettuccini Mozzarella Alfredo.” Both are made in a similar fashion. Split open the full sub roll and start with a base layer of four mozzarella sticks. Then fresh layers of either the rigatoni pasta or fettuccini is piled on top. Chopped breaded chicken cut pieces join the party next, only to have more of the pasta layered on. Each sandwich is then smothered in shredded mozzarella cheese and baked in the oven.
We’re not done yet. Upon coming out of the oven, steaming hot and crispy, more of the appropriate sauce is added on in addition to a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Both of these choices go for $24.
In addition, there is a third option here that is a special. It’s called the “Holy Ravioli.” This consists of fried ravioli getting placed in the sandwich first. Then, chicken cutlet and house-made spaghetti is layered on. It’s covered in some marina sauce and cheese, then finished with some diced parsley.
Upon finishing these monsters, you will might still have room for dessert. This is where you will find “Cake Shakes” and the “OMG Birthday Bowl” both of which were featured on the Food Network.
The Elm Street Diner is open seven days weekly starting at 8 AM. On Sunday, they also offer a brunch option from 10 AM to 2 PM.
