A family cat was accidentally sent to Amazon in a return box! Sure, it’s adorable when cats play with boxes and stuff. They can even take little cat naps inside of them. However, if you’re going to return some boxes you’ve opened, maybe double check inside to make sure the cat isn’t inside the box before you ship it off to be returned!
That’s what happened to one couple in Salt Lake City, Utah! Here’s more on how it all went down.
Family Cat Accidentally Returned To Amazon
According to KSL-TV, Carrie Clark’s family cat, Galena, is an indoor-only cat and disappeared back on April 10th. They searched the house, family and friends helped, they searched the neighborhood and nearby community, and put missing posters all over town and social media. However, they couldn’t locate the missing cat.
Clark told KSL-TV, “Galena is a huge emotional support to me and has helped me get through many health challenges over the past six years. The anxiety and stress of not knowing what happened to her was excruciating.”
Yeah, that’s every pet owner’s nightmare: you can’t find them. Then, you’re left clueless without answers. Did they run away? Were they stolen? Are they trapped somewhere? Did I accidentally send them to Amazon.com in my return box?
A week later, KSL-TV reports Clark received a text that Galena’s microchip had been scanned and then she received a call from a vet in the state of California. She says she thought she was being messed with at first. However, she then learned that her cat was found inside of an Amazon box along with five pairs of work boots, per KSL-TV.

That poor cat was trapped in the box along with the other returns for six days without food or water, according to KSL-TV! Thankfully, the cat was okay and has since been returned to her family.
Make sure to check your boxes for any pets before you ship them off to be returned!

Peep Show: The Best Of Chuck The Freak
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
