Couple Leads Cops On Chase With Several Animals Inside Spray-Painted Car
A pair of “Bonnie and Clyde wannabes” were arrested after leading deputies on a pair of pursuits. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll go down in infamy like their role models. This couple from South Carolina is in a lot of trouble after leading cops on a car chase with several animals inside their spray-painted car.
The whole thing started when Laurens County Sheriff’s Office deputies observed a speeding black Honda having trouble staying in its lane. Soon, that driver was identified as Joshua Harvey.

According to WLBT, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but he refused. After crossing a county line, law enforcement decided to end the pursuit there. However, that wouldn’t be the last time they encountered Harvey that day. Later, the same car was discovered driving recklessly, only it had been spray painted white.
So, they tried to conduct another traffic stop. Yet again, the car refused to stop, according to WLBT. However, this time officers were able to disable the vehicle on the highway. This time, it was Harvey’s significant other, Rosie Smith behind the wheel. Although, she wasn’t alone inside the vehicle. According to WLBT, Animal Control Officers were called to the scene to recover a dog, a cat, and four chickens that were inside the car during the pursuit.
Personally, I know how difficult it can be to drive with your dog in the car. They can be needy, they can be anxious, and they can move all over that car. I don’t believe I’ve ever driven with a cat in the car, but I can see them being just as curious. After all, it is what they’re famous for. Then, four chickens? I can’t even imagine. That had to have been a loud messy car! I have so many questions! Do the chickens and cat get along? Dogs and chickens? What is this relationship dynamic between animals like? Unfortunately, these questions will likely never be answered.
WLBT reports Harvey has been charged with failure to stop. Smith was charged with failure to stop, DUI, two counts of ill treatment of animals, driving under suspension, unlawful operation of a vehicle, operating with expired registration, and a seatbelt violation.
