Here’s an easy question for you to answer for this week’s 12-Inch Poll: What’s the most popular Star Wars movie?

Just kidding! That’s not an easy question to answer at all. And just so we’re clear before we get into it: this is a poll. The 12-Inch Poll. That’s my weekly question with the double-entendre for a name. For instance, last week we talked about the favorite beverages Gen Xers liked to sip on back in the ’80s and ’90s. So this isn’t a research-driven, deep-dive into box office revenues and streaming numbers and ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. This is me asking you about your fave Star Wars flicks so we can determine which is most popular.

Now, to set the parameters. This Poll, as the name states, is strictly for Star Wars movies. That is to say, feature-length films that received a cinematic release. In other words, Episodes I through IX and the two other standalone releases. Perhaps in the future I’ll take those movies and throw them all into another poll with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett and Andor and the multiple animated series and have an EVERYTHING STAR WARS 12-Inch Poll. But today is not that day.

What’s the Most Popular Star Wars Movie?

I feel like I need to say this before we get into voting, too. I laid the movies out like so: Episodes I through IX and the two other standalone releases. I thought of doing it order of release or in chronological order, but I realized Option A would rankle the fans who would’ve preferred Option B and vice-versa, so I decided against it. Star Wars fans are a touchy bunch, after all. So scroll down, cast your vote, then tell me what you chose on the ROCK 92.9 Facebook or Twitter. May the 4th be with you!

  • Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Not as bad as you remember!

  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

This one, on the other hand, is worse than you remember.

  • Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

    It’s fine. Really.

  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

The film that launched the franchise.

  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

The odds-on favorite to win this poll. (“Never tell me the odds!”)

  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

This was my favorite as a kid.

  • Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

This was my new favorite when it came out.

  • Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

This movie absolutely rules and I’m endlessly entertained by the segment of Star Wars fandom that hates it.

  • Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

It’s all supposed to end here (yeah right) and I’m OK with that. A satisfying wrap to the franchise.

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Vote for whatever you want, but this is the single-greatest Star Wars film ever made.

  • Solo: A Star Wars Story

No one’s voting for this one.
